Duo Labs, the research arm of Michigan based security firm Duo Security, found that Acer, Asus, Dell, HP and Lenovo laptops all had at least one security vulnerability straight out of the box. The OEM software vulnerabilities come from pre-installed software, also known as “bloatware”. To get rid of these vulnerabilities, the Duo team recommends wiping any OEM system and reinstalling a bloatware-free copy of Windows and other software. Read more here at Cnet.
