Resources Global is an international professional services firm that provides experienced accounting and finance, HR, IT, internal audit and procurement professional services to clients on a project basis. Resources Global engaged Technology's Edge to provide systems engineering resources to design a strategy and deployment plan for its migration from Windows NT 4.0 and Exchange 5.5 to support a mixed environment of Windows 2003/2000 servers and Exchange 2000 (providing an easy migration to Exchange 2003). Resources Global is expanding rapidly, requiring it to have an IT expansion solution that is designed to provide an easy and secure integration of new offices to its global network
To achieve this goal, Technology's Edge created a comprehensive Windows 2003 Root Server Deployment document that covered the following topics:
TechEdge provided three different scenarios in which the migration could be achieved. Our recommended solution provided Resources Global optimum security, the ability to better interact with other Windows 2003 Trees and Forests, and accommodation for semi-autonomous domains while retaining forest wide and tree wide administrative control. This provided the simplicity of a single domain while retaining the flexibility of a dedicated forest root. New Resources Global offices can either become child domains or additional trees in the same forest.
