Last week, Cisco disclosed that it had found a critical vulnerability in it’s router software. The flaw could potentially allow an attacker to perform a Denial of Service (“DoS”) condition or execute arbitrary code. Cisco claims there is currently no workaround for the flaw. While the vulnerability is severe, it is purportedly difficult to exploit because of the device-specific knowledge necessary to perform an attack. Read more at Security Intelligence.
